Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Session #1

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 12th annual Big O Tires NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Chris Juliano Runs 9.433/118.94, Now #1
Right Lane: Dennis Radford Runs 11.046/77.67, Now #2

Weather conditions: air temperature 68 degrees, relative humidity 20 percent, barometer 28.15 inches, adjusted altitude 2,986 feet, track temperature 72 degrees.

Radford shook and made a move toward the centerline and clicked it off. Juliano shook and was out of the groove getting a close to the centerline before he clicked it off.


Left Lane: Harold Martin Runs 9.661/100.81, Now #3
Right Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 6.966/233.24, Now #1

Martin shook and clicked it off. Satterfield launched hard and was straight down the groove...

Left Lane: Raymond Commisso Runs 6.023/244.21, Now #2
Right Lane: Todd Tutterow Runs 5.967/242.67, Now #1

This was a good drag race as Tutterow goes to the number one spot and Commisso was right there with him. Raymond Commisso's incremental times: 60ft-1.015 sec., 330ft-2.683, 660ft-3.995/190.19 mph, 1,000ft-5.099.
Todd Tutterow's incremental times: 60ft-1.004 sec., 330ft-2.664, 660ft-3.953/196.02 mph, 1,000ft-5.042.

Left Lane: Chip King Runs 8.594/122.99, Now #4
Right Lane: Jay Payne Runs 14.097/93.09, Now #8

Payne with a lot of shake right at the hit and clicks it off. King started to shake and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Mike Janis Runs 9.208/98.18, Now #5
Right Lane: Kenny Lang Runs 11.839/89.20, Now #9

Lang shook right at the hit and clicked it off. Janis shook early and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 6.019/237.59, Now #2
Right Lane: Mike Knowles Runs 12.085/73.40, Now #11

Knowles with a lot of tire shake and clicked it off. Matusek launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Steve Matusek's incremental times: 60ft-1.036 sec., 330ft-2.727, 660ft-4.017/190.92 mph, 1,000ft-5.097.

Left Lane: Pete Farber Runs 5.972/243.24, Now #2
Right Lane: Donald Martin Runs 11.394/90.90, Now #11

Martin with a lot of tire shake and made a move toward the wall before he clicked it off. Farber with a real nice pass to go to the number two spot. Pete Farber's incremental times: 60ft-1.022 sec., 330ft-2.652, 660ft-3.945/191.89 mph, 1,000ft-5.046.

Left Lane: Leah Pruett Runs 9.498/99.89, Now #10
Right Lane: Danny Rowe Runs 5.926/243.68, Now #1

Pruett with a lot of tire shake and clicked it off by 300 feet. Rowe launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Danny Rowe's incremental times: 60ft-0.969 sec., 330ft-2.611, 660ft-3.908/192.38 mph, 1,000ft-5.003.

Left Lane: Don Walsh Runs 5.841/253.85, Now #1
Right Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.060/249.44, Now #7

Coughlin gets into the top half of the show. Troy Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-1.051 sec., 330ft-2.810, 660ft-4.088/195.96 mph, 1,000ft-5.158. Walsh with a great looking pass to go to the number one spot. Don Walsh's incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.637, 660ft-3.901/198.26 mph, 1,000ft-4.955.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 7.903/152.24, Now #10
Right Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 5.945/239.91, Now #3

Smith got real loose just past 300 feet and clicked it off. Castellana with a real nice pass to go to the number three spot. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.972 sec., 330ft-2.614, 660ft-3.908/191.59 mph, 1,000ft-5.009.
