Extreme Pro Stock Round 1 Eliminations

ENNIS, Texas - Results of round 1 eliminations in Extreme Pro Stock at the American Drag Racing League, ADRL World Finals VIII presented by CarSafe:

    6 Elijah Morton                           7 Richie Stevens Jr

3:50 p.m. Stevens is second in points, trailing by 441 points, and must win to stay in contention.

Stevens was uncharacteristically late and Mortin ended Stevens' championship hopes on a big holeshot victory.

Cary Goforth is the 2012 Extreme Pro Stock champion.

Montecalvo struggled in qualifying, but appears to have it figured out now. He had a huge starting line advantage and was never headed.

Pluchino shook, turned right, and lifted. Penland was well off his usual pace, but it's a win.

Another holeshot win...Schorr grabbed just enough advantage at the green to take the win, with about eight inches to spare.

Another holeshot win. Goforth was the only driver to make all four qualifying runs under 4.1 seconds, but that didn't help him here. Bertsch grabbed a three hundredths edge at the green, Goforth spun the tires, and the race was over.

Bertsch will have lane choice against Schorr in round two.

Goforth made a last-minute lane change when he saw his father spin the tires.

Bealko made it academic, turning on the red bulb. Goforth will have lane choice against Penland in the second round.

Another holeshot win, O'Brien sharp on the tree, Berner late. Larry O'Brien's MOV: 0.0284 seconds (approximately 7 feet). O'Brien will not have lane choice against Montecalvo in the quarterfinals.

Gahm was off the line first, but shook and Deflorian was never headed after that, running low ET of the round. He will have lane choice aagainst Morton in round two.
