ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Aeromotive Fuel Systems Pro Mod at the American Drag Racing League, ADRL World Finals VIII presented by CarSafe listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 4.925/154.03, Now #2
Right Lane: David Wolfe Runs 4.435/134.59, Now #1
12:33 p.m. Wolfe spun the tires, Satterfield shook the tires. Both managed to get hooked up again, but it took them awhile.
Left Lane: Raymond Commisso No Time, Now #4
Right Lane: Pat Musi Runs 3.927/192.74, Now #1
Commisso is making his first appearance after a big crash at Maple Grove. The rear tires spun hard and he stopped, then backed off the launch pad. Nice run by Musi to take #1 for now.
Pat Musi's incremental times: 60ft-0.980 sec., 330ft-2.637.
Left Lane: Tim Tindle Runs 3.965/186.61, Now #2
Right Lane: Mike Janis Runs 4.773/109.94, Now #4
And a nice run by Tindle to put the supercharged car in the #2 spot for now. Janis had a strong launch (0.994 60-foot time), then shook and slowed.
Mike Janis' incremental times: 60ft-0.994 sec., 330ft-2.764.
Left Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 9.676/60.78, Now #7
Right Lane: Pete Farber Runs 3.910/193.79, Now #1
Farber isn't in his usual Daytona this weekend, he's in a blue, blown '63 Corvette instead.
Matusek popped and banged before the launch, then spun and shook. Farber made a nice, strong run to go to the head of the class.
Pete Farber's incremental times: 60ft-1.003 sec., 330ft-2.632.
Left Lane: Adam Flamholc Runs 3.958/189.12, Now #3
Right Lane: Jeffrey Cummins Jr Runs 6.563/72.28, Now #8
Flamholc made a pretty run, right down the groove, but it was only the third-best run of the session, the best so far in the left lane. Cummins shook and slowed.
Left Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 3.915/192.63, Now #2
Right Lane: Not on File Runs 4.884/108.83, Now #8
Don't know who the driver is in the right lane, but he had a big nitrous explosion at the halfway point. No drama for Castellana, he went right down the groove with the second-quickest run of the session so far and the best in the left lane.
Right Lane: Todd Tutterow Runs 4.052/192.60, Now #6
Tutterow's car started to shake and get sideways about 100 feet out and he did a great job of slapping the throttle to save the run.
Right Lane: Chip King Runs 5.853/79.10, Now #11
King is running a turbocharged powerplant and it looked like the plumbing let go about 100 feet out, with a big puff of white smoke from under the front of the car
