Racers from 12 States and Canada Traveling to Idaho for NAPA Halloween Classic XIX
By The New Crew

BOISE, Idaho --

Firebird Raceway.Unlike any other event all season long, the NAPA Auto Parts Halloween Classic is packed with virtually non-stop racing from Wednesday, October 10th until the boo bash comes to a close on Sunday, October 14th.

Classic XIX is open to any and all participants, as hundreds of racers are anticipated from twelve western states and two Canadian provinces for a weekend purse topping a record $45,000.

Adult tickets can be purchased at the track daily for: $15 Wednesday thru Sunday, which includes pit-side access, kid's 6-12 are $5 daily and toddlers 5 & under are free.

All the festivities take place at Firebird Raceway, located 5 miles north of the Hwy 44 on Hwy 16-northwest of Eagle. The Classic is much more than a drag racing event, it represents the true "festive atmosphere" surrounding one of America's most popular holidays-HALLOWEEN!

Saturday, October 13th, is the key day as far as Halloween fanfare is concerned. Activities include Kid's Games from 4 pm - 6 pm, followed by one big Kid's Costume contest. Special Hayrides will commence shortly after the games conclude. At 6:30 pm, the Witching Hour begins. This is the moment all kids are released throughout the pit area of Firebird to "Trick or Treat" from race trailer to trailer, motorhome to travel trailer in an incredible journey and pursuit of candy and goodies from the Firebird racing community.

Beginning at 8 pm, it's the Adults turn to join in on the festivities in an event coined: "the largest costume party at a Drag Strip in the west". Special awards and prizes will go out to the top costumes, along with additional merits being extended to those teams who excel in the incredible "decorated pit-space" competition.

Easily one of the most anticipated activities of the weekend will be Air Firebird Wheelstanding Show. Racers will have an opportunity to score the "title" for both highest and longest wheelstand on Saturday evening at 7:30 pm.

Racers may enter the event on any day of the weekend. Racing is offered in Super Pro, Pro, Heavy, Sled/Bike, Sportsman and Junior Dragster. Free camping is offered to all participants who secure full weekend credentials.

Gates open daily at 9 am, followed by first round special Gambler races start at 1:30 am on Thursday and 11:30 am Friday, while the Classic race itself starts at Noon on Saturday and concludes on Sunday (beginning at 9:30 am and continuing until 6 pm). One of the highlights to the weekend will be the Lucas Oil Top Gun Shootout for the Quickest 32 racers (16 open wheel and 16 full-bodied) at the event. First round of Top Gun kicks off at 12:30 pm on Saturday.
