MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 28th annual Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, amount over/under index, and position in order following run, class and class index:
Left Lane: Tom Ekroth Runs 7.495/178.52/-0.435, Now #1 C/A Index: 7.93
Right Lane: Kevin Houghtaling Runs 19.801/51.43/10.521, Now #2 H/SM Index: 9.28

Houghtaling with troubles as soon as the light turned green and he idled down the track over by the wall. Ekroth with a clean pass...

Left Lane: Kevin Robb Runs 8.199/162.02/-0.141, Now #2 D/DA Index: 8.34

Left Lane: William Scott Runs 6.947/188.94/-0.413, Now #2 B/DA Index: 7.36
Right Lane: Tony Mangrum Runs 14.402/59.94/7.342, Now #4 A/A Index: 7.06

Mangrum was out of power by 200 feet. Scott with a clean pass.

Left Lane: Mike Miscovsky Runs 8.681/182.30/1.131, Now #5 C/DA Index: 7.55
Right Lane: Greg Mannix Runs 7.586/141.49/0.106, Now #4 B/ED Index: 7.48

Weather conditions: air temperature 68 degrees, relative humidity 66 percent, barometer 29.54 inches, adjusted altitude 1,673 feet, track temperature 75 degrees.

Miscovsky with problems right at the hit and then got back on the throttle.

Right Lane: Pat Ross Runs 7.999/169.23/-0.561, Now #1 F/A Index: 8.56

ross with a nice pass to go to the number one spot. Niemczyk with a lot of tire shake right at the launch and then had a lot of engine smoke on the top end.

Left Lane: Mark Hopkins Runs 7.837/174.68/-0.393, Now #6 D/A Index: 8.23
Right Lane: Darrin Bauder Runs 7.429/182.95/-0.501, Now #2 C/A Index: 7.93

Bauder with a nice pass to go to the number two spot. Hopkins with a clean pass.

Left Lane: Elio Mannino Runs 7.103/194.35/-0.427, Now #5 B/AA Index: 7.53
Right Lane: Ronnie Boyd Runs 7.254/192.91/0.094, Now #9 A/ED Index: 7.16

Mannino with a clean pass.

This was good drag race as Lee goes to the number one spot...Affronti to the number three spot.

Hill goes to the number two spot.
