Wind Delays Sunday Racing
By Larry Sullivan

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - 9:30 a.m. - A few "spritzes" this morning delayed track preparation for today's racing, but the track is now ready and Super Street should have been called to the lanes a few minutes ago.

However, wind may be more of a problem than moisture today. An approaching cold front is triggering gusty winds that have the flags and banners around the track flapping briskly.

Right now it's a quartering tailwind, with gusts strong enough that the quicker cars, especially those using parachutes, could have some difficulties.

So we are on hold, waiting for the wind to calm down a bit.
