NORWALK, Ohio --

The 2012 IHRA Division 2 Heat Wave Summit Pro-Am tour will include four stops and eight races for all seven traveling Pro-Am classes plus Junior Dragsters including opening the season February 3-5 at Ralph Hester's famed Immokalee Regional Raceway with a double Pro-Am and Summit Tournament of Champions qualifier. The tour will then head to newly acquired Bradenton Motorsports Park, followed by stops at Carolina Dragway and Darlington Dragway.

IHRA's Heat Wave division will open the 2012 Summit Pro-Am season once again with a double wild card event and Summit Tournament of Champions qualifier at Ralph Hester's Immokalee Regional Raceway February 3-5. Racers attending this event regardless of their home division will be able to use these two events as an in-division claim.

Ralph continues to open up the Summit Pro-Am season with his event and always does so in fine fashion. This race will feature a test and tune on Friday hosted by the track. Saturday's race is a Summit Pro-Am event with two time trials followed immediately by Pro-Am eliminations. Sunday's event will feature one time trial before going into eliminations. Sunday's event will also act as the Division 2 Summit Tournament of Champions qualifier with winners automatically advancing to the year-end championship tournament at Memphis International Raceway in October.

The second stop on the Division 2 Heat Wave tour will be Bradenton Motorsports Park on the weekend of March 23-25. Bradenton has rejoined the IHRA family of tracks after an eight year absence. Friday the track will host a track test and tune along with tech and parking for early arriving participants. Saturday there will be two time trials with eliminations immediately following. Sunday morning there will be one time trial followed by eliminations.

The third stop on the Division 2 Summit Pro-Am tour will be at "The House of Hook" at Carolina Dragway on May 18-20. On Friday the track will host a test and tune, Saturday there will be two time trials with eliminations immediately following and on Sunday there will be one time trial followed by the second Summit Pro-Am race of the weekend.

The fourth and final stop of the season will be back at famed Darlington Dragway on Labor Day weekend August 31 thru September 2. Darlington has held a Labor Day Summit Pro-Am event for several years now and continues to draw the largest car counts in Division 2. Friday the track will host a track test and tune along with tech and parking for early arriving participants. Saturday there will be two time trials with eliminations immediately following the second time trial. Sunday morning there will be one time trial with eliminations immediately following. Monday will be a big bucks bracket event. Contact the track for schedule and payout info.
