MORRISON, Colo. -- Special awards from the 31st annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals
K&N Filters Horsepower Challenge award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) -
Allen Johnson, Greeneville, Tenn., Team Mopar Dodge Avenger, 6.966, seconds, 198.64 mph.
NHRA Best Appearing Car - Keith Lynch, '09 Dodge Challenger Stock entry, Eaton, Ohio
NHRA Best Appearing Crew - Steve's Body & Paint Pontiac GTO Pro Stock entry. Driver: Steve
Kalkowski, Ogallala, Neb.
NHRA Best Engineered Car - Maddox Motor Co. Super Comp dragster entry. Driver: Craig Maddox,
Sidney, Neb.
Full Throttle Hard-Working Crew Award ($3,000 each to Top Fuel and Funny Car, $1,500 to Pro
Stock and $750 to Pro Stock Motorcycle for the crews that are recognized as the hardest working of
the event):
Top Fuel: David Grubnic's Kalitta Motorsports crew for running low E.T. in a first round
victory over Steve Chrisman and moving into 10th position in the Countdown to 10.
Funny Car: Cruz Pedregon's Snap-on Tools crew for running low E.T. of eliminations and
advancing to the semifinals.
Pro Stock: Allen Johnson's Team Mopar crew for qualifying No. 1 and winning the sponsor's
race.
Pro Stock Motorcycle: Karen Stoffer's GEICO Powersports crew for advancing to the team's
first final of the season.
