Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Final Session

CLERMONT, Ind. - Notes from final, round 5 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 49th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Mike Stawicki Runs 6.842/157.26, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.260/226.70, Was #5
Right Lane: Zach Barklage Runs 6.466/218.83, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.505/218.37, Was #14

Current weather conditions: 76 degrees, 46 percent relative humidity, the barometer 30.08 inches, with a track temperature of 91 degrees.

Stawicki was loose and clicked it off. Barklage with his quickest pass of the event, but will come up short.

Left Lane: Wayne Torkelson Runs 6.373/221.49, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.383/220.01, Was #11
Right Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 10.866/76.12, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.226/224.40, Was #1

Smith shook and made a quick move toward the wall before he clicked it off. Torkelson with his best pass of the event, but will not make the show.

Left Lane: Fred Hahn Runs 6.224/221.42, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.229/227.27, Was #2
Right Lane: Chip King Runs 6.266/226.96, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.292/226.47, Was #9

Hahn is able to get it to hook up and keep it straight to take the number one spot away from Smith. King with a good looking pass to get in the show and that bumped out Stivers.

Left Lane: Von Smith Runs 6.228/228.04, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.232/228.31, Was #3
Right Lane: Al Billes Runs 8.955/100.40, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.861/130.99, Was #15

Smith with his best of the event, but will stay in the number three spot.

Left Lane: Rick Stivers Runs 6.561/221.60, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.291/223.95, Was #9
Right Lane: Bill Hill Runs 7.341/194.52, Now #16; Best prior run: 9.179/125.81, Was #16

Stivers, who just got bumped out will not get back in the show here. Hill is real loose right from the start first making a move toward the wall and then back toward the centerline and then shutting off.

Left Lane: Tim McAmis Runs 6.223/224.36, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.238/225.79, Was #4
Right Lane: Mike Ashley Runs 6.265/224.73, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.269/223.39, Was #7

McAmis with the quickest 60-foot time and he parlayed that into the number one spot. Ashley moves up a spot with this pass.

Left Lane: Scott Ray Runs 6.366/219.94, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.388/219.08, Was #12
Right Lane: Thomas Patterson Runs 6.278/224.70, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.282/223.21, Was #8

Patterson improves, but will stay on the bubble.

Right Lane: Troy Critchley Runs 6.359/222.33, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.356/220.37, Was #10

Critchley just misses her and that wraps up qualifying with McAmis on the pole and Patterson holds on to the bubble.
