Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Final Session

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 16th annual O'Reilly NHRA Mid-South Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Mitch Stott Runs 6.262/226.43, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.244/226.89, Was #3
Right Lane: Zach Barklage Runs 11.188/100.16, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.448/213.81, Was #15

Current weather conditions: 77 degrees, 51 percent relative humidity, the barometer 30.14 inches, with a track temperature of 115 degrees under sunny blue skies.



Stott with nice pass straight down the groove. Barklage with a lot of tire shake and got out of the groove and clicked it off.


Left Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 6.284/223.62, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.253/223.99, Was #6
Right Lane: Marty McGinnis Runs 13.751/78.23, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.439/217.35, Was #14

Castellana will not improve here in the heat of the day. McGinnis with a lot of tire shake and will not make the show.

Left Lane: Troy Critchley Runs 14.897/52.99, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.291/223.10, Was #12
Right Lane: Bill Hill Runs 9.242/115.38, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.478/129.89, Was #18

Critchley with tire shake and shuts it off. Hill shook the tires and got out of the groove.

Left Lane: Wayne Torkelson Runs 6.482/211.49, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.471/219.40, Was #16
Right Lane: Tim McAmis Runs 9.218/97.26, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.192/226.09, Was #1

Torkelson with a big puff of smoke as he crossed the finish line. McAmis shook and clicked it off early.

Left Lane: Billy Harper Runs 6.521/220.44, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.273/224.73, Was #10
Right Lane: Fred Hahn Runs 6.332/225.90, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.364/226.05, Was #13

Harper will not get in the show with this pass. Hahn with his best pass of the weekend, but will come up short.

Left Lane: Shannon Jenkins Runs 6.716/156.95, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.250/224.10, Was #4
Right Lane: Scott Ray Runs 13.513/81.78, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.250/222.69, Was #5

Ray with a lot of tire shake and he clicked it off early. Jenkins got out of the groove and close to the centerline before he lifted.

Left Lane: Rick Stivers Runs 6.414/222.91, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.618/216.13, Was #17
Right Lane: Mike Ashley Runs 6.305/222.69, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.263/223.69, Was #9

Ashley with the third best pass this session, but he will not make the show.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.364/194.66, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.255/224.25, Was #7

Smith sounded like he labored through the 1320 with trouble on the top end a quick flash of flames out of the headers.
