MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Modified at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 16th annual O'Reilly NHRA Mid-South Nationals presented by Pennzoil:

Jenkins with a great light light and just drove away for the win.

    2 Mitch Stott                            44 Mike Castellana

Castellana is too quick on the tree and turns on the red light and then almost crosses the center line. Stott with a lot of tire shake right off the starting line, but drives through it.

Smith is out of the gate first and then has some violent tire shake, but drives through it. Smith with a nice looking pass to move into the semifinal and he will have lane choice over Mitch Stott.

 1004 Tim McAmis                              8 Thomas Patterson

Patterson is out of the gate first after a little staging battle. Patterson with the power to hold off the number one qualifier for the hole shot win. Patterson will give up lane choice by 0.001 seconds to Jenkins in the semifinals.
