Shawn Gann will be riding a new S&S-powered Buell owned by Lister Harrell for the remainder of this season and all of 2009.

X-Treme Rebellion, a new brand of boardsports equipment and clothing produced by Oakley, will sponsor the team along with XXX Racing Fuel. Gann's father Blake will serve as crew chief. Optima Trailers and Golf Cart World will be associate sponsors.

"This is a great opportunity for me and my family," said Gann. "We have always raced on a very tight budget. Finally we have a budget to really race hard. "I am getting ready to jump off the hook. We are going to go all-out."

Harrell owns Lister's Outdoor World, a sporting goods retailer focused on hunting, fishing and camping based in Eastman, Georgia. Lister's Outdoor World is one of the leading sellers of the Oakley brand nationwide. X-Treme Rebellion, which will produce skateboards, snowboards and wakeboards in addition to lifestyle clothing and eyewear, is a partnership between Harrell and Oakley

Thomas "Tog" Goss, one of the co-owners of XXX Racing Fuel and a business partner of Harrell, helped put the deal together. "Nobody represents the idea of X-Treme Rebellion better than Shawn Gann," said Goss.

Gann stated that the partnership with Harrell and Goss began at the US Nationals. "Lister came into my trailer at Indy," said Gann. "He said he had been watching me for years and I was the type of person he wanted to represent his new business venture. I said, 'Let's go!'"

The Buell has been delivered and Gann has made shakedown passes with it at Valdosta. The two-day test session produced a best of 7.05 at 189 mph.

"The Buells ride really nice," said Gann. "I can see why so many people want to run them. It is pretty exciting to actually have the bike and the deal together. We are going to have something for them."

The team will compete in the last two NHRA events of the season, the upcoming AC Delco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals and Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals. The team will run the entire 2009 NHRA schedule, challenging for the Full Throttle championship.
