Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Final Session

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 21st annual O'Reilly Mid-South Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: John Nobile Runs 18.877/39.87, Now #20; Best prior run: 17.297/43.26, Was #20
Right Lane: Mark Hogan Runs 6.995/197.51, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.131/195.05, Was #19

Weather conditions: air temperature 84 degrees, relative humidity 38 percent, barometer 29.68 inches, adjusted altitude 2,552 feet, track temperature 114 degrees.

Nobile with a lot tire shake one more time, and he never did get it to launch cleanly this weekend. Hogan with another good pass and career best E.T. and mph...Mark Hogan's incremental times: 60ft-1.034 sec., 330ft-2.929, 660ft-4.502/156.92mph, 1,000ft-5.855


Left Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.700/205.79, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.691/206.35, Was #18
Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.674/206.16, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.675/206.32, Was #17

Krisher with his quickest pass this weekend, but just misses getting into the show by 0.001 second and for the second time since the Countdown to 1 Krisher fails to qualify. No help for Stevens and he will not qualify.

Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.656/206.54, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.653/207.02, Was #14
Right Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.677/205.82, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.673/205.66, Was #16

No help here for either driver, but they will race on Sunday.

Left Lane: Justin Humphreys Runs 6.629/207.27, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.639/207.46, Was #11
Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.655/206.64, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.656/206.95, Was #15

Humphreys with his quickest pass of the weekend to move into the top half of the show. Justin Humphreys' incremental times: 60ft-0.979 sec., 330ft-2.765, 660ft-4.257/165.36mph, 1,000ft-5.543 Stanfield with his quickest pass of the weekend, but he will stay No. 15. Greg Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.783, 660ft-4.275/165.07mph, 1,000ft-5.565

Left Lane: Johnny Gray Runs 11.261/77.39, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.632/207.18, Was #10
Right Lane: Steve Spiess No Time, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.646/206.35, Was #13

Spies did the burnout and then his crew shut him off before he staged the car. Gray chattered the tires right off the starting line and then got out of the groove before he clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.655/206.61, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.631/207.59, Was #9
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.696/206.48, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.642/207.72, Was #12

No help here for either driver.

Edwards was real loose right off the starting line.

johnson with a lot tire shake and then got out of the groove before he clicked it off. No help for Morgan.

anderson with a little wiggle right off the starting line, but stayed with it for the second quickest pass of the session...Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.993 sec., 330ft-2.775, 660ft-4.268/169.83mph, 1,000ft-5.547 Johnson drove through tire shake right off the starting line.

Left Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.634/207.72, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.599/208.65, Was #2
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.648/207.59, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.591/208.52, Was #1

A couple good looking pass to end the session, and they will end No. 1 and 2. This is the sixth time Johnson has qualified number one in his career and the third time this year.
