Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #2

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 23rd annual O'Reilly Super Start Batteries NHRA Fall Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Mark Buehring Runs 6.798/201.76, Now #19; Best prior run: 8.482/108.86, Was #19

Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 44 percent, barometer 29.44 inches, adjusted altitude 2,828 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.

Buehring makes a big move in the right direction, not enough, but still his career best E.T.


Left Lane: John Nobile Runs 6.666/206.42, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.720/205.41, Was #17
Right Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.690/206.29, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.731/204.98, Was #18

Nobile made a quick move toward the centerline, but he reeled it in to move to the number eight spot. John Nobile's incremental times: 60ft-0.992 sec., 330ft-2.787, 660ft-4.282/164.91mph, 1,000ft-5.577 Stevens makes a move in the right direction, but will not get into the show.

Left Lane: Justin Humphreys Runs 6.661/206.26, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.703/206.64, Was #18
Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.688/206.57, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.698/205.51, Was #16

Krisher improves, but not enough to get into the show. Humphreys with a nice pass to get into the top half of the show for now. Justin Humphreys' incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.775, 660ft-4.274/164.53mph, 1,000ft-5.570

Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.661/206.48, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.699/205.82, Was #18
Right Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.669/206.57, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.693/205.82, Was #17

Morgan with a nice pass and it is another 6.66 pass to got to the number five spot. Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.780, 660ft-4.276/164.71mph, 1,000ft-5.572 Yates with 6.66 pass, but his ends with a 9 and he is now on the bubble. Jim Yates' incremental times: 60ft-0.979 sec., 330ft-2.778, 660ft-4.279/164.21mph, 1,000ft-5.577

Left Lane: Johnny Gray Runs 6.658/206.26, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.691/205.85, Was #18
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.655/208.26, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.677/207.72, Was #14

This was a great drag race, and these two go to the number three and four spots. Johnny Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.979 sec., 330ft-2.774, 660ft-4.272/164.53mph, 1,000ft-5.568
Warren Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.795, 660ft-4.286/165.58mph, 1,000ft-5.573

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.666/206.01, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.683/206.13, Was #16
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.646/206.95, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.667/206.86, Was #13

Edwards with a real nice pass to get in the show at the number three spot...Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.773, 660ft-4.266/165.09mph, 1,000ft-5.559 Stanfield with his best pass, but he will not get into the show.

Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.653/206.32, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.673/206.42, Was #16
Right Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.642/207.30, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.664/206.76, Was #12

Jones with a great pass to go to the number four spot...Rickie Jones' incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.774, 660ft-4.265/165.03mph, 1,000ft-5.556 Gaines was just a tick behind him for the No. 5 spot. V. Gaines' incremental times: 60ft-0.978 sec., 330ft-2.768, 660ft-4.265/164.67mph, 1,000ft-5.562

Left Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.640/207.46, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.659/207.24, Was #9
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.638/208.07, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.662/206.92, Was #13

Johnson improves, but I'm not sure he will be happy with this run. Kurt Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.778, 660ft-4.270/165.48mph, 1,000ft-5.561 Line with a real nice pass to go to the number two spot...Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.772, 660ft-4.260/165.76mph, 1,000ft-5.548

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.634/206.95, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.631/207.56, Was #1
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.665/206.76, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.638/207.11, Was #4

Coughlin with another great pass, second quick of the session. Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.980 sec., 330ft-2.768, 660ft-4.259/165.13mph, 1,000ft-5.549 No help here for Johnson he will stay in the number four spot. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.782, 660ft-4.280/164.49mph, 1,000ft-5.575
