Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #1

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 23rd annual O'Reilly Super Start Batteries NHRA Fall Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Redell Harris No Time, Now #1

3:04 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 87 degrees, relative humidity 40 percent, barometer 29.48 inches, adjusted altitude 3,062 feet, track temperature 112 degrees.

Harris has trouble getting the bike to run and isn't able to make a pass.


Left Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.113/189.20, Now #1
Right Lane: Peggy Llewellyn Runs 7.183/186.10, Now #2



Left Lane: David Hope Runs 7.189/177.86, Now #4
Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.067/189.87, Now #1

Hope starts drifting to the right around half-track but he never backs off the throttle and makes a decent run. DeSantis makes a clean pass and takes the early pole.

Left Lane: Angie McBride Runs 7.109/186.82, Now #2
Right Lane: Junior Pippin Runs 7.128/186.54, Now #4



Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.516/140.68, Now #8
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.008/190.16, Now #1

Arana makes a good run and almost breaks into the 6's. Berry has problems late in the run and shuts down.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 7.088/190.86, Now #4
Right Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.055/189.50, Now #2

Stoffer spun the tire a little at the hit. Treble has a trouble free run to get in the second spot for now.

Left Lane: Chris Rivas Runs 6.990/188.81, Now #1
Right Lane: Matt Guidera Runs 7.059/188.60, Now #4

Rivas makes a good pass and is the first to get in the 6's. Guidera makes a decent run and gets in the fourth spot.

Left Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 7.004/189.79, Now #3
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.985/190.94, Now #1

Hines makes a great pass for the conditions and takes the pole for now. Ellis makes a decent pass and gets in the third spot.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.970/191.65, Now #1
Right Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 7.053/187.36, Now #6

Krawiec goes right down the groove, sets a track record and gets in the top spot for now.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 25.992/170.90, Now #18
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 7.044/188.07, Now #6

Johnson gets about 300 feet out and has problems. Smith makes a clean pass and gets in the sixth spot.
