By Dave Rowe

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 22nd annual O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.274/177.74, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.207/186.28, Was #20
Right Lane: Jim Randolph Runs 7.360/183.49, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.335/184.50, Was #22

2:55 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 87 degrees, relative humidity 41 percent, barometer 29.38 inches, adjusted altitude 2,748 feet, track temperature 128 degrees.

Randolph was all over the track at the hit but he never lifts. DeSantis slows from his earlier attempt and will not make the show.

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.213/183.99, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.184/185.49, Was #19
Right Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.314/186.54, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.289/185.21, Was #21

We probably won't see much movement this session with the hot temps and hot track.

Left Lane: Michael Ray Runs 7.228/184.30, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.163/185.13, Was #16
Right Lane: Chris Rivas Runs 7.168/184.60, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.175/180.81, Was #18

Rivas is the first to improve this session but still not enough to get in the field. Ray slows from his earlier attempt but will stay in the show on the bump for now.

Left Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.199/188.60, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.144/190.40, Was #14
Right Lane: Blaine Hale Runs 7.277/186.64, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.170/186.15, Was #18

Hale still has a chance to bump ouit Ray but he will have to do it under leass than ideal conditions....and he can't do it. Like most others so far, he slows from his earlier pass and will not be racing tomorrow. Phillips slows but is safely in the show.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.099/189.10, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.121/188.99, Was #13
Right Lane: Tom Bradford Runs 7.250/183.27, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.161/183.59, Was #15

Johnson makes an impressive run for the conditions, improving by .03 seconds and moving up a notch to the 12th spot. No help for Bradford.

Left Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.139/189.47, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.077/191.13, Was #10
Right Lane: Matt Guidera Runs 7.094/187.36, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.111/185.97, Was #13

Guidera joins the small group to improve this round and he moves to the 12th spot. No help for Treble.

Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 7.043/190.30, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.075/189.02, Was #9
Right Lane: Geno Scali Runs 7.164/168.91, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.082/189.34, Was #11

A great run for Sampey here and she moves into the seventh spot. Scali can't improve and stays in the 11th position.

Left Lane: Antron Brown Runs 7.113/187.05, Now #9; Best prior run: 7.066/187.76, Was #9
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 8.613/106.04, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.062/187.52, Was #8

Kraweic gets to half-track and the engine goes silent, not sure why. Brown slows and stays in the ninth spot.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.137/187.50, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.042/189.10, Was #6
Right Lane: Peggy Llewellyn Runs 7.043/188.83, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.029/188.65, Was #4

Llewellyn makes a great pass to tie Sampey for the quickest run of the round so far. Arana slows but stays in the 6th spot.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 7.061/189.44, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.038/190.65, Was #5
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 7.055/189.52, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.996/188.81, Was #3

Decent runs for both in the conditions.

Right Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 7.007/190.62, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.976/191.32, Was #1

Really impressive runs for these two, the quickest of the round. Ellis doesn't lose much from his earlier pass, Hines is just a little behind.
