Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #2

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 22st annual O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Todd Hoerner Runs 6.779/203.83, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.884/202.76, Was #20

Hoerner with a little wiggle, but still improves not enough to get into the show.

Left Lane: Ben Watson Runs 6.768/202.94, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.792/202.94, Was #20
Right Lane: Dave Northrop Runs 6.798/203.31, Now #21; Best prior run: 14.903/56.19, Was #23

Watson with a lot better pass, but not good enough to get into the show. Watson gets into the show.

Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.711/206.04, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.764/205.13, Was #14
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.729/206.29, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.953/126.49, Was #23

Johnson with a real nice pass to go to the number two spot. Kurt Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.006 sec., 330ft-2.811, 660ft-4.317/163.97mph, 1,000ft-5.617 Line with second fastest pass of the weekend.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.738/205.51, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.761/205.01, Was #15
Right Lane: Steve Schmidt Runs 6.725/205.04, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.760/128.54, Was #23

Weather conditions: air temperature 82 degrees, relative humidity 47 percent, barometer 29.29 inches, adjusted altitude 2,511 feet, track temperature 107 degrees.

Coughlin improves, but I'm sure he is not happy with this pass. Schmidt with a good looking pass to get into the top half of the show. That will bump out Watson...Steve Schmidt's incremental times: 60ft-1.006 sec., 330ft-2.814, 660ft-4.322/163.37mph, 1,000ft-5.627


Left Lane: Craig Hankinson Runs 6.725/204.63, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.759/204.91, Was #16
Right Lane: Tom Hammonds Runs 6.745/204.85, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.779/204.60, Was #21

Ron Krisher is on the bump spot at 6.750. Hankinson gets off the bubble and into the top half of the show. Craig Hankinson's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.804, 660ft-4.316/163.08mph, 1,000ft-5.624 Hammonds gets into the show and bumps out Edwards.

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.731/204.73, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.757/205.19, Was #17
Right Lane: Kenny Koretsky Runs 6.724/205.16, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.778/204.01, Was #21

Koretsky with a nice pass to get into the top half of the show. Kenny Koretsky's incremental times: 60ft-0.994 sec., 330ft-2.807, 660ft-4.317/163.33mph, 1,000ft-5.625 Edwards with a good pass to get back into the show. With two getting in, they bump out Hammonds and Krisher.

Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.705/206.20, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.778/205.01, Was #21

This was a great drag race with these two going to the number one and two spots...Ron Krisher's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.791, 660ft-4.299/163.67mph, 1,000ft-5.601
Warren Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.993 sec., 330ft-2.800, 660ft-4.308/163.71mph, 1,000ft-5.610

Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.698/205.35, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.731/205.38, Was #13
Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.759/205.26, Now #20; Best prior run: 6.776/204.29, Was #21

Stanfield improves, but not enough to get back into the show. Morgan with a real nice pass to slide into the number two spot. Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-0.990 sec., 330ft-2.794, 660ft-4.299/163.79mph, 1,000ft-5.601

Left Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.686/205.72, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.730/205.63, Was #13
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.717/205.35, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.743/204.63, Was #18

Connolly with a great pass to go to the number one spot. Dave Connolly's incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.788, 660ft-4.292/163.77mph, 1,000ft-5.592 Gaines gets back into the show with a real nice pass, V. Gaines' incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.806, 660ft-4.315/163.31mph, 1,000ft-5.619

Left Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.687/205.60, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.730/205.79, Was #14
Right Lane: Justin Humphreys Runs 6.692/205.94, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.741/204.76, Was #18

These two were side by side all the way down the track for the number two and three spots. Richie Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.788, 660ft-4.292/163.79mph, 1,000ft-5.592
Justin Humphreys' incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.790, 660ft-4.296/163.83mph, 1,000ft-5.597

Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.690/205.69, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.741/205.16, Was #18

Naylor with problems as soon as he let the clutch out and he clicked it off. Johnson with a real nice pass to go to the number three spot and he will bump out Edwards. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.789, 660ft-4.293/163.87mph, 1,000ft-5.595

Left Lane: Jim Yates Runs 7.956/125.44, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.718/205.69, Was #11
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.668/206.92, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.707/206.32, Was #8

Yates with problems early in the run...Anderson launched hard and was able to keep it hooked up all the way to the number one spot. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.781, 660ft-4.281/164.59mph, 1,000ft-5.578

Jason Line is on the bump spot at 6.729.
