the throttle and the engine starts spitting and sputtering. He gets about 300 feet out, pedals
once, then gives up on the run.
Left Lane: Jeff Hamelink Runs 5.697/251.11, Now #17; Best prior run: 5.901/227.34, Was #23
Right Lane: Artie Allen Runs 6.236/218.48, Now #24; Best prior run: 6.441/209.52, Was #24
Hamelink was putting fuel out of the left header all the way through the run but he still makes a decent pass. Allen till having problems but a slight improvement in his ET.
Left Lane: Chris Holley Runs 6.098/219.83, Now #23; Best prior run: 5.856/236.59, Was #23
Right Lane: Dave Hirata Runs 5.524/260.21, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.740/245.18, Was #19
Hirata makes a big move out of the gate and the engine pulls hard all the way through the run. Holley put out a cylinder late in the run.
Left Lane: Brandon Johnson Runs 6.070/235.60, Now #22; Best prior run: 5.835/245.14, Was #22
Right Lane: Bill Evans No Time, Now #19; Best prior run: 5.727/224.77, Was #19
Johnson had a hole out all the way through the run. Evans never made it to the line.
Left Lane: Karl Brounkowski Runs 6.038/247.61, Now #21; Best prior run: 5.785/253.33, Was #21
Right Lane: Darryl Hitchman Runs 5.959/230.49, Now #17; Best prior run: 5.632/247.84, Was #17
Hitchman had a hole out all the way through the run. Brounkowski makes a clean run, just not quick enough.
Left Lane: John Finke Runs 5.734/261.42, Now #20; Best prior run: 5.767/263.31, Was #20
Right Lane: Troy Buff Runs 5.496/257.14, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.593/249.49, Was #15
Buff has the best sixty foot time of the round, a .940, and the engine pulls hard all the way through the run. Finke makes a decent pass but not enough to get in the show.
Left Lane: Brandon Lewis Runs 5.827/254.28, Now #16; Best prior run: 5.630/258.62, Was #16
Right Lane: Duane Shields Runs 5.744/264.03, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.538/269.03, Was #12
No apparent problems for either dragster but they both slow from their first attempts.

Right Lane: Darvin Martinets Runs 5.502/260.76, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.521/259.91, Was #9
Martinets keeps all the candles lit and makes another good run.
Left Lane: James Thompson Runs 5.693/258.07, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.541/265.85, Was #13
Right Lane: Marty Thacker Runs 5.536/256.45, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.509/259.11, Was #9
A couple of pretty decent runs for the conditions but a little off their earlier pace.
Left Lane: Thomas Bayer Runs 5.596/261.42, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.481/262.28, Was #6
Right Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 13.408/66.83, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.384/264.60, Was #5
Whiteley rattled the tires and clicked it off early. Bayer spun the tires a little off the line but made a decent pass.
Left Lane: Bill Reichert Runs 5.304/264.91, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.334/266.74, Was #2
Right Lane: Aaron Tatum No Time, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.345/276.29, Was #4
Tatum had problems after the burnout and had to click it off. Reichert makes a great pass and goes around Olivarez to take the pole.
Left Lane: Aaron Olivarez Runs 5.415/269.94, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.306/274.55, Was #2
Right Lane: Kate Harker Runs 5.423/259.96, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.340/267.11, Was #3
A good side-by-side, both dragsters go right down the groove, but neither improve.
