Pro Bike Battle Round 2 Eliminations
By Larry Sullivan

CLERMONT, Ind. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Ringer's Gloves Pro Bike Battle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 17th annual Ringers Gloves Pro Bike Battle:

Bike#-Rider-(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed----Bike#-Rider-(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed
3 Angelle Sampey 4 Chip Ellis
E2 0.030 7.056 185.74 ****WINNER**** 0.006 7.020 186.12

 Qualified: #1 2,380 #4 2,190
Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 33 percent, barometer 29.21 inches, adjusted altitude 2,646 feet, track temperature 109 degrees.

Sampey has a long list of accomplishments on her side of the screen, but a win in the Battle is not among them. Ellis has been to two finals in a row in this event.

Sampey will hae to wait until next year, Ellis nailing her to the tree and then running away from her. They were almost dead-even at 60 feet, but Ellis was never headed.

Bike#-Rider-(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed----Bike#-Rider-(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed
1 Andrew Hines 5 Matt Smith
E2 ****WINNER**** 0.016 7.037 187.60 0.015 7.118 182.53

Hines is looking to post his third win in this event - and he will have a chance to do so. It was dead-even at the start and Smith led for several hundred feet, but the Vance & Hines Harley had too much for Smith on the top end today and went by for the win. Andrew Hines' incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.011), 330 ft(-0.009), 660ft(0.010), 1,000ft(0.047). MOV: 0.0801 seconds (approximately 21 feet).
