Sixth annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals Special Awards

LAS VEGAS -- Special awards from the Sixth annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals.

Budweiser Shootout award ($4,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Top Fuel) - Tony Schumacher, Long Grove, Ill., U.S. Army dragster, 4.445 seconds, 333.08 mph.

Skoal Showdown award ($4,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Funny Car) - Robert Hight, Anaheim Hills, Calif., Auto Club of Southern California Ford Mustang, 4.677 seconds, 333.08 mph.

NHRA King Demon Crown award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) - Jason Line, Terrell, N.C., Summit Racing Pontiac GTO, 6.705 seconds, 204.88 mph.

Ringers Gloves Pro Bike Battle award ($1,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock Motorcycle) - Shawn Gann, Stoneville, N.C., Gann Speed Suzuki, 7.090 seconds, 188.12 mph.

Motel 6 "Who Got the Light" award ($1,000 to the individual Top Fuel, Funny Car, or Pro Stock driver who earns an elimination round win by the narrowest margin.) - Tommy Johnson Jr. defeated Eric Medlen by a .0024-second margin of victory in the semifinal round of Funny Car eliminations.

Strange Engineering "Perfectly Strange" performance award ($250 bonus to the first racer in Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street who wins an elimination round by running dead-on their dial-in or index) - Todd Barton in Super Comp and Rodney Lee in Super Gas.

Brut "Essence of Racing" award ($1,000 to the Sportsman-level participant that best exemplifies the Brut spirit of racing) Dwight, Bryan, Keith, and Nick Downing of Glendale, Ariz.

Hedman Hedders Best Engineered Vehicle ($1,000 to the best engineered vehicle) - Metro Harley-Davidson/Suzuki Chevrolet Corvette Super Gas entry. Driver: Rick Bowman, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

NHRA Best Appearing Crew - Dickey Petroleum Super Comp entry. Driver: Dan Dickey, Turlock, Calif.

NHRA Best Appearing Car - Circus Motorsports Chevrolet Super Comp entry. Driver: Craig Anderson, Waxahachie, Texas.

Full Throttle Pit Crew Championship ($3,000 each to Top Fuel and Funny Car's top crew, $1,500 to Pro Stock's top crew, and $750 to Pro Stock Motorcycle's top crew):
Top Fuel: Hillary Will/Jim Oberhofer KB Racing dragster crew.
Funny Car: John Force/Austin Coil Castrol GTX Ford Mustang crew.
Pro Stock: Dave Connolly/Tommy Utt Torco Race Fuels Chevrolet Cobalt crew.
Pro Stock Motorcycle: Angelle Sampey/Steve Tartaglia U.S. Army crew.
