LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Sixth annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Chip King Runs 6.383/219.79, Now #7; Best prior run: 20.015/59.90, Was #16
Right Lane: Harold Laird Runs 6.373/207.43, Now #6; No Prior Run

King is able to get it down the track this time and into the top half of the show. Laird making his first pass of the weekd and gets into the top half of the show.

Left Lane: Jay Payne Runs 7.213/194.91, Now #14; Best prior run: 13.499/78.82, Was #17
Right Lane: Rick Stivers Runs 6.381/227.88, Now #7; No Prior Run

Payne with a lot of tire shake, but stays with it to get in the show for now. Stivers is able to get it down the track this time and into the top half of the show.

Left Lane: Troy Critchley Runs 6.091/236.22, Now #1; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Dan Rowe No Time, Now #19; Best prior run: 10.432/81.42, Was #18

Critchley with a great pass, straight down the groove. Troy Critchley's incremental times: 60ft-1.012 sec., 330ft-2.669, 660ft-4.002/186.18mph, 1,000ft-5.137

Left Lane: Thomas Patterson Runs 6.420/219.44, Now #12; Best prior run: 8.048/132.70, Was #17
Right Lane: Cody Barklage Runs 6.167/232.71, Now #3; Best prior run: 8.639/107.40, Was #18

Patterson gets into the show. Barklage goes to the number three spot and these two bump out Payne and Kuhns.

Left Lane: Kirk Kuhns Runs 11.139/85.72, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.710/124.95, Was #18
Right Lane: Harold Martin Runs 6.255/225.48, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.695/205.38, Was #14

Kuhns with a lot of tire shake and shut it off. Martin with a real nice pass to get into the top half of the show.

Left Lane: Steve Engel Runs 6.299/209.52, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.826/166.25, Was #16
Right Lane: Scott Ray Runs 6.367/223.06, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.417/221.23, Was #12

Engel straight down the groove to get into the show. Ray makes a move in the right direction.

Left Lane: Mike Knowles Runs 7.123/174.68, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.713/214.86, Was #16
Right Lane: John Scialpi Runs 9.398/111.58, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.287/218.09, Was #8

Knowles with tire shake and clicked it off. Scialpi lost traction right off the starting line.

Left Lane: Zach Barklage Runs 6.220/228.46, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.552/217.84, Was #15
Right Lane: Joey Martin Runs 13.648/86.59, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.175/232.35, Was #4

Martin with a lot of tire shake right off the starting line and clicked it off. Barklage with a great looking pass to get into the top half of the show.

Left Lane: Shelly Payne Runs 6.169/232.23, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.257/229.70, Was #7
Right Lane: Joshua Hernandez Runs 6.084/236.01, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.151/234.78, Was #2

This was a great drag race with Hernandez going to the number one spot. Shelly gets into the top half of the show.
