It's almost fitting that the Torco-sponsored car is here in the late rounds. But the Yates ride is a sentimental favorite for a lot of people who'd like to see Bill Jenkins get another Wally for his collection.

This can be the trickiest round for Pro Stock cars.

This was by far the wildest PS pair I've ever seen. Yates hooked right just like all the rest of the cars and all eyes were watching him try and save his car. In the meantime, Martino went about another 50 feet and then darted to the wall. Only his reflexes saved the car.

Martino reacted the quickest and took off toward the finish line. Yates followed and I was gritting my teeth at all the smoke coming out of an engine that was protesting about being in a gear too high for the RPM. With these cars, you can't exactly push the clutch back in and try again.

Martino won the race by a train length and we hope the championship doesn't get decided by a race track.

Both cars take a long time to go in. At first I thought the Summit team was going to put on a staging battle show for the fans. But Greg bumped in and Jason followed right after.

Jason left on the boss, whose car was driving over to the right lane at the same time. Anderson never got close to being as out of shape as Yates did, but the momentary bobble had to cost him some time.

Line has lane choice over Martino in the final, and right now that looks critically important.
