Top Alcohol Dragster Round 2 Eliminations
By Dan Bennett

DINWIDDIE, Va. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Inaugural Torco Racing Fuels NHRA Nationals:

5 Marty Thacker 33 Jeff Bohr
E2 ****WINNER**** 0.046 5.282 270.21 0.081 5.329 266.64
 Prior rounds:
E1 (D DeAngelis ) 0.121 5.283 268.54 (D Heitzman ) 0.083 6.027 168.30
 Qualified: #3 5.265 269.83 #11 5.379 266.48
1:06 p.m. and the weather is still absolutely beautiful. Track conditions are good, so we expect to see some great numbers. And don't forget, if Reichert wins his race he's the 2006 Lucas Oil Champion.

It's a great race with lots of action. Thacker's car wiggles a bit through the transition and Bohr's front wheels are trying to levitate.

Thacker ends the pairing on a strong pass and wins by over a car length.

35 Ken Perry 25 Robin Samsel
E2 ****WINNER**** 0.009 5.255 265.17 -0.265 10.323 77.85
 Prior rounds:
E1 (D Hirata ) 0.079 5.258 265.33 (L Callaway ) 0.100 5.409 252.76
 Qualified: #5 5.274 258.86 #13 5.487 236.26
Supercharger in the left lane and injection stacks in the right. This matchup is fun to watch since the blown cars are so strong off the line and the fuelers really start marching on the big end.

What a pass! Samsel redlights but all eyes are on Perry as he continues to lower the standard for the quickest Blown Alcohol pass in history.

4 Bill Reichert 185 Mike Kosky
E2 ****WINNER**** 0.091 5.251 275.17 0.034 5.368 253.28
 Prior rounds:
E1 (D Hedges Jr ) 0.109 5.293 273.83 (R McPhillips) 0.073 5.300 265.17
 Qualified: #2 5.209 276.63 #7 5.302 267.53
Here's the race we've been waiting for. Reichert has been strong all year but the experience and performance of Kosky make this more than an average pairing.

I hear a pop from one of the cars as it crosses the line but I'm not sure anyone really cares.

Congratulations to all to Bill Reichert for his 2006 Lucas Oil Top Alcohol Dragster championship.

Bill Reichert's MOV: 0.0608 seconds (approximately 23 feet).

19 John Finke 1482 Richard Bourke
E2 ****WINNER**** 0.096 5.198 278.12 0.058 5.427 256.11

Big speed and a crazy low ET for Finke as he serves notice he's here to win this race.

John Finke's incremental times: 60ft-0.918 sec., 330ft-2.367, 660ft-3.466/228.19mph, 1,000ft-4.396
