Left Lane: Gary Scelzi Runs 4.844/302.08, Now #1; Best prior run: 14.071/71.30, Was #19
7:11 p.m. Since Scelzi went about a foot under power last time, he gets to lead off this round. The run wasn't spectacular, but it was a full pass to get him into the field and give the rest of the drivers something to shoot at.
Left Lane: Mike Ashley Runs 4.838/302.01, Now #1; Best prior run: 13.174/69.93, Was #19
Right Lane: Phil Burkart Runs 10.000/84.22, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.346/111.02, Was #15
Burkart got about 100 feet out and the header flames went out. Ashley took the long route to the finish line, but was quick enough to move past Scelzi in the order.
Left Lane: Jim Head Runs 4.784/307.09, Now #1; Best prior run: 12.327/76.52, Was #19
Right Lane: Tim Wilkerson Runs 4.885/303.30, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.500/239.70, Was #14
Head shows how it's done, the first into the seventies, and Wilkerson made a nice, smooth pass to move up the list several spots, Head the quicker of the two early in the run.
Left Lane: Paul Lee Runs 13.126/71.94, Now #19; Best prior run: 10.992/73.65, Was #19
Right Lane: Tony Bartone Runs 10.701/90.68, Now #13; Best prior run: 4.985/250.27, Was #13
Lee spun and shook, the car fishtailing, then getting up on two wheels, dragging the right-side headers on the track before he could shut it off. Bartone also shook, but did so going straight ahead.
Left Lane: Robert Hight Runs 4.751/311.05, Now #1; Best prior run: 8.015/132.80, Was #18
Right Lane: Jack Beckman Runs 4.831/304.87, Now #3; Best prior run: 4.975/244.38, Was #12
Beckman got most of a run on his first try, Pedregon barely got 100 feet on his.
Two good runs - Hight moving to the
top of the list, Beckman not far behind.
Left Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 8.500/99.27, Now #17; Best prior run: 5.902/171.95, Was #17
Right Lane: Del Worsham Runs 11.232/76.23, Now #13; Best prior run: 4.937/260.31, Was #13
Pedregon had problems early in his first run, Worsham got most of the way down under power on his.
This time both cars
went about 200 feet, then the header flames went out. Pedregon pedaled it once, then gave up.

These two were side-by-side until there was a flash of flame from Pedregon's car and he lifted. Densham can leave tonight knowing he has a good run to fall back on, Pedregon needs to find a longer fuse.

We have all three Pedregons here this weekend, the first time we've been able to say that in a few months.

Capps smoked the tires and coasted through. Medlen moved in right behind teammate Hight with a fine run.

Right Lane: Tommy Johnson Jr. Runs 4.813/306.33, Now #5; Best prior run: 4.866/300.06, Was #9
Last pair. Put the three Force team cars at the top of the list, Jim Head the only other driver in the seventies. TJ made a nice run, but Force was much quicker and a whole bunch fatser with top speed of the meet after two rounds.
