EDMONTON, Alb. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Nitro Bikes at the 2006 eMax Drag Racing Series, CARS RV & Marine & Motorsports Rocky Mountain Nationals presented by TORCO Racing Fuels listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Robert Smith Runs 6.959/198.44, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.385/189.90, Was #7
Right Lane: Brian Hall Runs 11.187/92.61, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.940/201.61, Was #5

5:57 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 33 percent, barometer 28.15 inches,adjusted altitude 3,477 feet, track temperature 109 degrees.

Hall smoked the tire and slowed early in the run. Smith made a nice, clean run to move a spot further from the bump spot. Ken Kent is on the bump spot at 7.871.

Left Lane: Jody York Runs 10.671/89.49, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.876/174.62, Was #3
Right Lane: Andy Beauchemin Runs 7.074/169.53, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.848/202.58, Was #2

York smoked the tire. Beauchamin was ahead of Smith's pace at half track, then the engine went away.

Left Lane: George Welch No Time, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.008/200.92, Was #7
Right Lane: Jim Schellenberg Runs 8.602/120.58, Now #9; Best prior run: 8.212/150.73, Was #9

Welch fought, leaned, then took out the half-track timing blocks as he swapped lanes. Schellenberg launched, his engine went sour, and he shut it off.

Left Lane: Kevin Boyer Runs 8.666/107.05, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.903/201.97, Was #4
Right Lane: Mike Scott Runs 9.791/98.94, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.789/208.30, Was #1

Both engines sounded sour and then both went silent.

Left Lane: Ken Kent Runs 7.208/196.44, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.871/147.37, Was #8

Kent improved by over half a second, stayed on the bump spot.
