Alcohol Funny Car Qualifying Notes, Session #2

GRAND BEND, Ont. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Alcohol Funny Car at the 2006 eMax Drag Racing Series, Mopar Canadian Nationals presented by Castrol listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Thomas Carter No Time, Now #12; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Trevor Lebsack Runs 5.935/236.59, Now #4; No Prior Run

3:23 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 68 degrees, relative humidity 56 percent, barometer 29.46 inches,adjusted altitude 1,404 feet, track temperature 94 degrees.

John Anderika is on the bump spot at 6.257.

Carter left before the tree was activated and still has no time. He pulled out of line last night, so he's down to one last shot, tonight. Meanwhile, Lebsack made a nice pass to bump into the field. Now Larry Dobbs is on the bump spot at 6.089.


Left Lane: John Anderika Runs 6.238/218.07, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.257/213.67, Was #9
Right Lane: Tony Bogolo Runs 6.434/182.37, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.542/203.43, Was #10

No help for Anderika and bogolo was out of the throttle very early.

Left Lane: Larry Dobbs Runs 6.118/232.43, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.089/231.18, Was #8

No hlep for Dobbs either, he stays on the bump spot.

Left Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 6.006/236.28, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.968/237.65, Was #6
Right Lane: Frederick Tigges Runs 8.212/101.60, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.033/237.84, Was #7

Tigges got way out toward the wall, sending the trackside observers running. McMillen's car looked sluggish in the first part of the run.

Left Lane: Paul Noakes Runs 5.981/238.09, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.968/238.85, Was #5
Right Lane: Rob Atchison Runs 5.920/245.09, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.887/246.57, Was #3

Still no improvements, Atchison describing his run as "Shake, then it shook some more, followed by more shake..."

Left Lane: Mark Thomas Runs 5.862/244.69, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.864/243.83, Was #2
Right Lane: Terry Munroe Runs 5.804/236.84, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.802/240.83, Was #1

Last pair and our first solid runs, Thomas picking up a couple hundredths, Munroe losing a couple.
