POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 41st annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.240/186.56, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.221/185.41, Was #16

11:21 a.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 67 degrees, relative humidity 36 percent, barometer 29.36 inches, adjusted altitude 1,341 feet, track temperature 86 degrees.

DeSantis makes a decent pass but can't get off the bump.


Left Lane: Thomas Byrd Jr. Runs 7.486/175.46, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.399/178.95, Was #21
Right Lane: Blaine Hale Runs 7.329/184.14, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.293/185.33, Was #19

No improvement for either driver.

Left Lane: Connie Cohen Runs 7.284/182.23, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.334/177.98, Was #20
Right Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.307/183.69, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.277/184.98, Was #18

Cohen improves but not enough to get in the show. No help for Camarena.

Ellis improves and moves up two notches with the quickest pass of the session so far.

Smith is still on the pole and Joe DeSantis is on the bump spot at 7.221.
