LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Fifth annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.862/200.68, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.885/200.62, Was #17

12:29 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 37 percent, barometer 28.35 inches, adjusted altitude 2,902 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.

Dave Howard is on the bump spot at 6.881.

Stanfield gets his problems sorted out and moves well ito the field. Now Allen Johnson is on the bump spot at 6.874.

Nope. Oddly, Morgen matches Howard's best run from yesterday, exactly, so Howard gets the higher qualifying position because he did it first - but neither is qualified.

Right Lane: Ben Watson Runs 6.881/199.23, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.885/199.58, Was #19

No help and now we have three non-qualifiers at 6.881.

Left Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.871/200.83, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.841/202.03, Was #5
Right Lane: Bob Panella Runs 6.931/199.49, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.872/200.77, Was #14

Looks like it's going to be one of "those rounds," Stanfield the only driver able to break into the field in this round.

Left Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 6.862/200.53, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.863/200.62, Was #12
Right Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.866/200.41, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.872/200.08, Was #15

Pawuk improves a thousandth and moves up one spot - the field is that tight! Yates improves six thousandths, also good for one spot on the ladder.

Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.851/201.01, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.847/201.40, Was #7

No improvement here.

Right Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.895/199.88, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.863/200.59, Was #13

Gaines improves a thousandth, stays put.

Line runs low ET of the round (so far). WJ picks up a bit and moves closer to the middle of the field, but he's still in the bottom half.

Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.897/201.19, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.844/201.70, Was #6

Wow! Enders runs low ET of the round on a strong effort, nice and smooth. Erica Enders' incremental times: 60ft-1.004 sec., 330ft-2.838, 660ft-4.378/159.97mph, 1,000ft-5.706.

Wow again! Two absolutely awesome runs, the two quickest of the weekend to set the top two spots. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-1.004 sec., 330ft-2.840, 660ft-4.377/160.21mph, 1,000ft-5.702.
Kurt Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.016 sec., 330ft-2.851, 660ft-4.385/160.61mph, 1,000ft-5.706.

With one session left, Allen Johnson is on the bump spot at 6.874.
