Schumacher has qualified number one for the last six races, a record in Top Fuel, and for the tenth time this year, which ties the record. No upset here, Schumacher goes right down the groove with the quickest pass of the session so far, and moves on to the next round.

This really hurts Kalitta's chances to overtake Schumacher for the championship battle. He gets about 400 feet out, strikes the tires, pedals a couple of times, then has to give up on the run. Grubnic goes right down the groove to beat Kalitta for the second time in three races.

3 Brandon Bernstein 71 Jack Beckman

A good side-by-side here, Beckman gets out in front off the line, then Bernstein starts to reel him in, drives around at the 330-foot mark, and pulls away for the win.

In the next round it will be Schumacher with lane choice over Lucas, Bernstein vs. Grubnic, Scott Kalitta vs. Cullinan, and Herbert vs. Millican.
