Pro Bike Battle Time Trial Notes, Session #1
By Larry Sullivan

CLERMONT, Ind. - Notes from round 1 time trials in Ringer's Gloves Pro Bike Battle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 51st annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Craig Treble Runs 18.834/35.38, Now #2
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.225/182.33, Now #1

8:42 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 73 degrees, relative humidity 36 percent, barometer 29.66 inches, adjusted altitude 1,438 feet, track temperature 101 degrees.

A great sight at the starting line for this round, Ken Johnson is back out with the G-Squared Pro Bike Team after losing a leg earlier this year in an accident in the pits.

This is just a time trial to let the Ringers Gloves Pro Bike Battle contestants check out both lanes for tomorrow's race. Treble abandoned his run very early, could not see why from here in the darkness. Nice run by Johnson, straight and smooth.

Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 7.276/177.70, Now #3
Right Lane: Geno Scali Runs 7.230/186.20, Now #2

Angelle's first-round qualifyi ng runs was tossed out because of fuel contamination. She made a clean pass here, about a tenth slower than her invalidated run, the speed off also. Also a nice run by Scali, no problems we could see.

Left Lane: Antron Brown Runs 7.196/186.00, Now #2
Right Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 7.191/181.01, Now #1

Two nice runs, side-by-side all the way down the track.

Right Lane: GT Tonglet Runs 7.184/182.28, Now #1

Andrew Hinse skipped the time trial run, but teammate Tonglet made good use of it fater an off-pace qualifying pass earlier tonight. He was quickest of the session, Scali had the top speed.
